Enjoying the ladies

We enjoyed a lunch today with Marilyn B. and her mother, Peggy, who's up from Oregon visiting.
Marilyn did a good job making Jack laugh - both in her mother's arms and on the floor.
As you might imagine, Jack ADORED being the center of our attention.

Bubbles

Heather and Olivia were blowing bubbles for baby Jack. If you can't tell what he's staring at - it's probably a bubble.
It almost looks like Olivia got scared and her hair stood on end!

Jack and Jan Michael....~one year apart and future troublemakers, we're sure.

Sittin' pretty

Jack's done a pretty good job of sitting up on his own. I'm sure he'll be driving by next week at this rate. ha!

PC's and phones

Jack's new computer has eyeballs....I think that makes him leary.

Easter bunnies

A couple bunnies showed up at our house today. Jack was none too happy to try his hand at them.
He's been sitting up on his own really well these past few wks. Also, yesterday he went swimming for the first time. Clung to mama the whole time. But did manage a few splashes. I'll give him credit - the water was a wee-bit on the colder side. We had fun though.

Rub-a-dub-dub

After having carrots all over for dinner, it's bathtime. I don't think of Jack as having big ears, but these pics and his facial expressions have me thinking "monkey"!! We're in love with this kid.

The Hoods, est. 2004

To quote an email I received from Kat, "The Hoods, est. 2004"....yes, it's our 4th anniversary today. Tom and I decided to just bbq up some filet mignon instead of going out. I then took it a step further and set the table as if we were on a date :) It was a lot of fun. We had our steaks, Rice-A-Roni (yes, we're addicted to the kind that has vermicelli in it), artisan bread w/ olive dipping oil, sparkling cider, easter choc. eggs, and for dessert - the yummiest recipe I've found...Chocolate-Mint Bars (Cooking Light, March 2008 - cover recipe).

Tom gives this dessert an A++....I've made it 3x in the last 3 weeks. For those who want it, either buy the magazine or get the recipe from myrecipes.com. Also, don't be tempted to use "light" choc. syrup - it just turns the dessert 'spongy' - we found out last time.
Jack, had carrots. All over. He loves carrots. Good boy.

Thanks to all the well-wishers....time has flown by these last four years :)

The party continues....

Yuuuuuuuuuummy cake.
We REALLY need to talk to Jack about flirting with the ladies. He's shameful, really.
Jack, Tom and Jan (pronounced with a silent 'J')....hangin' out.

We had my parents and the Becks over for some b-day cake on Sat. night. Highlights include the relighting candles on the cake, Olivia asking on various occassions, "Did Jack drool on this?", and Jan terrorizing his sister - of whom he almost outweighs.

Do Gpa and Grandson love each other?

A good b-day

Jack eating what he eats most these days....his fingers. And a beautiful arrangement from my friend Yvette.
Thanks for all the wonderful birthday wishes today - calls and emails. Since it's spring break for Tom, I've been working more hrs (rather than my usual part-time hrs). More hours today was a "loose" term. Tom brought Jack by so he could go workout. Jack and I went to lunch w/ my parents (thanks!) and then Tom came to take him home for his nap. I worked a wee-bit longer and then treated myself to an hour and a half massage. Oooooooooh yea.

Tom, Jack and I went to Glacier Brewhouse for dinner (yummy, yummy). Jack thought it was pretty cool to try out the high-end of his voice during dinner. Luckily it's kind of noisy in the restaurant, so we only had people from two tables away looking - instead of some from across the restaurant. Ginger - we had that peanut butter pie for dessert again- you would've loved it!!!

One of my highlight calls was from my little friend Olivia G. saying, "Happy Birthday Marwa." She's so cute.

Happy Birthday to Gavyn too!!!

Mama loves her baby

Am I cool or what?

So mommy jokingly says to daddy, "Jack needs some sunglasses!" Mommy comes home from work today and what does she find....some cool shade for one cool dude. Ooooh my....

Tickle me daddy

Tom and Jack have a nightly tickling ritual. Before Jack gets in his sleeper, dad tickles him and Jack laughs and squirms. It's really cute to watch. I also love the simple joy you can see on Tom's face. He loves his baby.

6-mth stats

Here Jack is checking out his "Bartlett" bear (it has the colors of Tom's high school). He had his 6-mth checkup on Thurs. He's 19 lbs 8 oz (75-90%) and 26" long (50%).

And wouldn't you know it - I ran downstairs to grab the camera to take these pics and I hear something back upstairs. Seems baby Jack rolled over....a first! Course, Tom and I say it didn't happen since neither of us saw it. Literally - 15 sec. I was gone. Sigh.

Happy B-day Michelle and 6-mths-old to me!

"If you're going to take a picture of me, I'm going to act like I'm eating the camera."

Jack had some friends over today....Katriana and Autumn were good helpers while Katriana's mom took 6-mth pics of Jack. Can't wait to see what they look like!
Cousin Maghan lovin' on me. I'm sooooo ready for my nap.

While on the computer....

What does Jack do while I'm on the computer???Well, he plays with a little contraption that's made for car seat handles. He's figured out the pushing the frog's eyes starts the music. Ok, maybe he just bats at it and it happens. And he's kicked so much his socks are knocked off and his pants are now knee-highs.

New hat from Gma T.

Mom sent me the pic she took of baby Jack and his new hat she made.

The end result of watching the Iditarod

Sigh.....someone's tuckered out....

Iditarod and Happy B-day Gma T.!!

We went to watch a few of the doggies mushing in the start of the Iditarod today. I was determined to get Jack out there as this is a true Alaskan tradition.

Here come the doggies....

Doesn't Jack just look *thrilled* to be out in the cold? We realized we need some baby sunglasses for him.

Go doggies go....
