His chariot awaits him

Yes, we have the "Chariot" for Jack. It's GREAT. Tom uses it a lot for his jogging now and we can't wait until Jack can wear a helmet (10 mths) so we can hook it up to the bikes and gooooo...
(The bottom pic is just a crop of the top pic) His hat's a bit big for him yet.

Oh so close

Jack's rocking back and forth on all fours. He'll be off crawling one of these days. Enter the next 'chapter' in our household - mobile Jack.

Need more space...

...or we need less junk. Tom and I spent today putting stuff under our house. We have more to donate. All in a grand effort to make room for Jack needing 1000 sq. ft of our place ... ha! Oh how I wish I was kidding.

To treat ourselves, Tom made us berry smoothies. We know it's (almost) summertime when the blender starts churning those out. Jack got his first taste of them. I think he looks like the Joker on Batman.

Teefers

Ever try to get a picture of your baby's first tooth and the pictures just turn out like this? Well, I tried. These are actually old ones (early May), but I haven't taken any recently, so thought I should post something.

Things will be changing around here. Tom just had his last day of school and is OFF FOR THE SUMMER. I have to say that "loudly" as he's ABSOLUTELY THRILLED about this. It's not just students who look forward to summer breaks. So, with this, I'll go back to work ~30/hrs a week (have been doing 20-hrs, with some from home). Time for some father/son time. Tom has promised to bring Jack over to my office during some lunch breaks. I'm hoping to see if there's also some people who'd like to play soccer at lunchtimes. I'm on a university campus now (moved in April), so there's some nice lawn space. We'll see - I used to do this in Oregon, so miss those days. I'm also planning on biking to work a couple days a week, so that'll be nice for exercise. Should take me ~15-20 min.

Happy Memorial Weekend everyone. Time to plant those flowers! Ours are almost done :)

Comb over

Jack's usual hairstyle is, as my mom would say, "like he stuck his finger in a light socket". After tonight's bath, Tom "combed it over" and I can't quit laughing. I love this little biscuit's hair. It's just plain crazy.

Graduation

Last Monday was Bartlett's graduation. Here's a peek of my teacher before heading to it.

More M's Day dinner pics....with the guys

(Great) Uncle Tom handing down words of wisdom.

Grandpa Ron laughs, so I laugh.....

Mother's Day dinner

We had my parents and Tom's Uncle Tom, Aunt Sue, and cousin Jessie over for a Mother's Day dinner. Tom bbq'd up some chicken and Jack was spoiled by his fans.

SUNNY!!!

My cutie-patootie...well, one of them anyway :)

Both of my cuties...each picture I tried to get of them, Jack would look one way or the other.
Here Jack's laughing at Tom. It's 55 degrees out, the sun is shining and we're loving it. Finally put Jack in something other than pants.

Brace yourself

Jack has a habit of grabbing both sides of the car seat handle and "bracing himself" for the carry out to the car. He's only 1/2 doing it here, but it's pretty cute. Like he's ready to be jostlin'.
Ready to go watch mom play soccer.....yeaaaaaaa!

Bath time

It seemed like a simple deed....usually bath time is reserved from dad and baby. But since dad was bbq'ing, he suggested mom take up the task.

Aah, the little baby sat and played in the water. Life was good, real good. Then baby gets "that look" on his face. OH YEA, he left a delightful little surprise for mom in the tub...some call it "the log".

Now, this delightful surprise has NEVER been left for dad. Was it any wonder that dad was almost on the floor laughing upon seeing this? Mom...was...not...thrilled. So guess who, upon finishing laughing, graciously offered to disinfect the baby tub?

C'est la vie.....yes, we are that boring that we have nothing else to post :)

B-day parties last week

We had Heather and her kids over to celebrate Heather's b-day (we missed her honey, Jens, had just arrived back in town). Heather, I know you'll hate me for saying this, but this is a gorgeous picture of you!
Then Olivia celebrated her 3-rd b-day....Happy Birthday Olivia! Such a pretty, princess cake that her grandma brought her!
Tom and Jan Michael
Marla and guess who....

Pearly whites

Jack was super fussy last night. Tom said he was throwing his first real fit. We realized this was most likely tooth-related. So this morning I checked and sure enough, there's little white specs there. I've been feeling his gums for awhile, but have missed it.

Jack has his first tooth coming in! Just shy of 8-mths.

p.s. *When* did my son get to be 8-mths??? These days really do fly by!
