New baby.....

Honestly - we were "just looking". Whoops. I told Tom we're dangerous when we shop together - especially for a "new baby". Here's what we came home with tonight. An '04 Honda Pilot.

In truth, we've been looking for several months and narrowed it down to a Pilot or a Toyota Highlander. Today we went test driving. Found we liked the Pilot a wee-bit better. I didn't really feel like buying new and losing $3k when we drove it off the lot. So then we went down to a park and sell lot and low and behold, here was one in the color (blueish-grey) that I really, really liked. For the right price, we brought 'er home. Now we'll be selling my Subaru there - after we clean it out. Sniff, sniff - I'll miss my baby, but since Tom happens to have the EXACT same Subaru, I'll get over it.

And we did this all while Jack bounced on our laps. He did really well. Smiled appropriately, cooed in a timely fashion, etc.

So very nice... same thing happens when Craig and I go shopping together. ;) Only you were a little smarter about it then we were... we just go ahead and lose money by buying brand new. Ha.

Kat- Is this similar to when you went house shopping and came home with a Mustang instead? *Originally*, we were going to go crib shopping...think this is more expensive? And yes, we still need a crib for Jack - he's been making do in the pack-n-play, but it's time for a "real bed".

Lani (grins) - In all fairness, we test drove the '08s and when I asked the interior difference between the '04 (they had one on their lot) and the '08, the guy said, "Nothing". Hmmm, let me do the math. I would've liked an '06 or '07, just to have newer, but none were available (at 3 lots we checked). Also the color of the '04 just GRABBED me. When we were looking at '08s, they didn't have any of the colors I loved. Such a female thing...ha!

Love it and you will too! We have an '03 Honda Odyssey with almost 100,000 miles on it. We had to put a transmission in at about 75,000, but it was under the extended warranty (whew!). Other than that, it runs like a top and we hope to get another 50,000 out of it and then I would consider another Honda as they are great vehicles! Congratulations on a "reliable baby"!!
